HOW LONG WILL MY PROJECT TAKE?

The timeline for a remodel depends on the scope and complexity of your project. A smaller renovation, like a bathroom or kitchen update, might take a few weeks, while larger projects such as whole-home remodels or additions can take several months. At Build Forward, we provide a clear schedule up front and keep you updated every step of the way.

DO YOU OFFER A WARRANTY?

Absolutely! We back our work with a 3-year warranty. That means if something related to our craftsmanship needs attention, we’ll take care of it. We want you to love your space for years to come.

HOW MUCH WILL MY REMODEL COST?

The cost of your project depends on the size, scope, materials, and design choices involved. A small remodel may be a more modest investment, while additions, new builds, or whole-home remodels can be significant. We are committed to providing detailed estimates and walk you through the numbers up front so you know exactly what to expect before work begins. Find more information on our Pricing Page.

WHAT IS A CHANGE ORDER?

Think of a change order as a project “edit.” If you decide mid-way that you want a different countertop, add built-ins, or change the layout, we’ll write up a change order. Alternatively, sometimes there are hidden issues that can't be seen until demo starts that require change orders as well. The change order spells out the new details, costs, and timeline so everyone’s on the same page.

HOW LONG IS MY ESTIMATE GOOD FOR?

Our estimates are valid for 30 days. Construction costs can shift quickly due to changes in labor and material prices, so we limit the timeframe to ensure your estimate reflects current conditions. Once your contract is signed, your price is locked in and won’t change unless you request changes through a change order.

WHO WILL MANAGE MY PROJECT?

Your project will be managed by a dedicated Project Manager. They oversee scheduling, subcontractors, inspections, quality control, and day-to-day progress, while also being your main point of contact. Their job is to make sure your remodel runs smoothly, stays on track, and that you’re informed every step of the way.

WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING A REMODELER OR BUILDER?

When choosing a remodeler or builder, look for proper licensing, insurance, and experience with projects similar to yours. Strong communication, transparent estimates, and a clear process are also key. Build Forward combines all of these with a focus on collaboration so you can trust that your project will be well-managed and built to last.

CAN I DO SOME OF THE WORK MYSELF?

In some cases, yes. Whether you can take on part of the work depends on the scope of your project and is decided on a case-by-case basis. If you’d like to be involved, we’ll discuss it in advance and add an addendum to the contract. This agreement outlines that we aren’t responsible for delays or costs related to your portion of the work, it excludes us from liability for injuries, and it may adjust the warranty depending on the circumstances.

CAN YOU WORK WITH MY ARCHITECT OR DESIGNER?

Yes! We’re happy to work with your architect and/or designer. Whether you come to us with a complete set of plans or need us to collaborate along the way, we’ll coordinate closely to make sure the design is built exactly as intended.

CAN YOU WORK WITH MY ELECTRICIAN, PAINTER, PLUMBER, ETC.?

Yes, we can work with your preferred subcontractors such as painters or electricians, but this is handled on a case-by-case basis. To make sure everything is clear, we’ll include an addendum in the contract outlining that we are not responsible for delays, added costs, or issues that may arise from outside work. It also means our warranty or insurance coverage may be adjusted.

CAN YOU PROVIDE REFERENCES?

Absolutely! We’re happy to provide references. We’ve completed a wide range of remodels and new builds, and many of our clients are more than happy to share their experiences working with us. Just let us know, and we’ll connect you with past projects similar to yours.
